PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Mr. Christenson is a project engineer for Palos Verdes Engineering Corporation. He joined the firm in April 1994, shortly after the Northridge earthquake.
Due to the unstable nature of the soil in the South Bay, Mr. Christenson has had the opportunity to inspect and design numerous foundation repair projects. Some of his more notable projects have involved deepened footings, caisson/grade beam systems, slope repairs and special foundation designs. Since the Northridge earthquake, Mr. Christenson has been closely involved with the seismic retrofit of wood framed and unreinforced masonry buildings both in the South Bay, and throughout the Los Angeles Basin.
Mr. Christenson's specialty is helping large industrial clients find cost effective engineering solutions for major projects. Some of his larger clients include, Wickes Furniture, Reynolds Metals and Pentel.
During his tenure at Palos Verdes Engineering, Mr. Christenson has had the opportunity to work with soil engineers, city officials, developers, contractors, architects, homeowners and insurance companies.
Prior to joining Palos Verdes Engineering, Mr. Christenson was a Project Engineer with Varco-Pruden Buildings (7/93 to 3/94), where he designed steel framed commercial and industrial structures ranging from storage warehouses to industrial office buildings.
Mr. Christenson now manages our office in San Diego where he continues to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects.
